No opengl is always going to be worse than directx.
nonsense and simply wrong. it depends on the used hardware and drivers.
try both. also try windowed/fullscreen.
you can try all this stuff using Launcher.exe in your CS2D folder!
also note that windows 7 has much higher requirements than win xp. so this might lead to problems (you should have 2gb ram or more when using 7 for example)
CS2D probably do not need anymore because it is 2d.
But blitzmax is not fast engine-17fps for cs2d vs 8.5 for cs source!
Right click CounterStrike2D.exe and select Properties. Then look for the Compatibility tab and select Windows XP from the drop down. Then run CS2D.
Find your video card's driver via the computer model or company name, find it for your version of windows 7 (32/64).
Had the same problem with an old computer, worked like a charm after installing the drivers throughout compatibility mode.
Textual content... You know that windows 7 does the automatic installing the best right? The retail stuff you're saying doesn't change anything. All versions of windows 7 automatically fetch your drivers on Internet... In this case there isn't a driver for windows 7... So windows just didn't find anything... ( And no, it won't look for windows XP drivers and do what has been suggested, that stuff experimental, doesn't work in all cases (but worked in mine lol...)
Another thing is that I got something close to what he has, CS2D worked perfectly @51~50fps ( max...) on my old XP machine which can't even support aero. Now does ~15-30 fps on a new one which works perfectly on aero, and has all the drivers too... Maybe it's just windows 7...

Now going to disable aero, put on the old gray theme, kill a lot of programs then try CS2D. Will tell you when I'm done.

nah it's not win 7 because I have full FPS on my laptop and desktop PC, both win 7.
No you don't understand his situation. His computer came with Windows XP, then he formatted or something and install with Windows 7.
When I did that with my computer it Windows 7 didn't have sound, no display card, no areo, low resolution, etc.
Find your computer model. It should be printed on the side of the computer case like Dell blah blah blah, or HP blah blah blah series.
Locate the correct driver for windows 7...You should hope there is even a driver for windows 7.
