please don't post if you don't want to help, Gordon Freeman... this is neither funny nor helpful.

Half-Life 2 does not use "scripts" for the weapons. The weapons are in the source code. you have to get the source code (I think it's in the hl2 sdk) and change it. It's probably C++ code.

old Problem self solved thx 4 help anyway DC

Well aside from Gordon s idiotic & child like actions Thx for the info. I asked the same Q on FPSbanana forums n yea I got em now

PS yea DC the scripts do exist u just need a program called GCFScape to extract them from the HL2 base code in ze HL2 folder.

To use them U just have to make a folder called scripts next to ur other skin folders (if u use skins) like materials, models, sound exc. U can also edit them via note pad & change basic things on the default weapons like ammo type, ammo per clip, position in 1st person view models, damage exc.

Yea I extracted the scripts from the base source code but when I put them in my scripts folder in HL2 folder my edited scripts dont work. >>

The weapon scripts are default just with edited ammo per clip for the smg (45 -> 30), shotgun (6 -> 8), & pistol (18 -> 19) yet in game the guns still use the default

I'm assuming its either that valve made the steam version of HL@ incapable of having its scripted edited or it may be just cause of the retarded update >>

I already have the scripts its getting them to work on the steam versions that's troubling me atm. Since even when I have the edited weapons in the scripts folder ingame the weapons are still on the default settings. Probably since the update HL2 now is running on the Orange box engine >>

Yea mine runs on the newer orange box engine I was thinking about installing Smod Tactical 5.56 as its version has been fixed via the Smod Tactical Project Life fix on ModDB.

But if I did this Id have to reskin all the weapons to look more realistic for a Eastern European setting bla bla bla my point being that would be at least 1 month of work just to do that properly

The odd thing is that when I installed the same scripts in my Episode 1 & 2 they work as they should. I'm assuming that's because they still run on their own original engines.
