So, i got a new monitor (it's actually a Digital HDTV, but it's made to work as a monitor as well), the problem is that when i use resolutions bigger than 1680x1050 the colors get dark and everything stays with a .JPEG like quality (pixel-artists will know what i mean).
Everything is annoyingly blurry (no, it's not the resolution, the colors are like blending with horrible quality), colors are strong (and even hurt my eyes)...

I tried changing the HDMI cable i usually use to a DVI cable but it doesn't seem to show anything when i connect it (no signal).
I tried updating my video-card's drivers, but nothing...

My current specs are:
• Samsung B2230 HD Monitor. (1920x1080)
• ATI Radeon HD 6950 Video-card.

If anyone could help with anything useful, i would be grateful.
Thanks.

Maybe is a videocard issue, did you tried with the ati ctatlyst options to see if it gets fixed?

I tried most of them, any specific option i should try?
On the video-card's website they say it can handle up to 2560x1600.

I am mostly sure the problem is with the HDMI cable, if i use the DVI it will probably get fixed, but it doesn't even show a single thing.
I connect the DVI cable, disconnect the HDMI cable, and set the source to PC (the TV reads the motherboard video output instead of the video-card HDMI's one) but the TV says it has no signal...

What is your operating system? I know that there are restrictions for different versions of windows.

@user J4x: Most people when creating threads on computer problems spend around 3 hours on google before they ask forums. So it really adds insult to injury when they see <this is what i found in google>.

My OS is Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit, and the TV has compatibility with it... btw, i found out what the problem is, still not how to solve it:
The maximum resolution supported by the basic MONITOR settings is 1680x1050, if i want to set it 1920x1080 (which is the actual screen's resolution) i have to set it at HDTV's settings, which makes it have this poor quality (compared to a desktop monitor, of course)...

Any way to fix this, like a driver to add compatibility with bigger desktop resolution presets?
