you did not buy half-life or counter-strike, heh? but you have to do this in order to play counter-strike. cs is no freeware.

if you have HL its okay. I just mentioned it because this error occurs often when you are using an illegal version of CS

Your version of cs is illegal. All you need to do is search for servers and hope you find a non-steam server.

HEY I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM!!!
And because of that I searched long, until I found the best freeware game: Enemy Territory
Enemy Territory (click to down^^)
Also I make a 12 fps- Video

Now my steam wont open!!!! it says its running but it dosent show on taskbar or anywhere

remove every cs and steam-stuff from your pc, clean up your registry, reboot, install HL, then CS, create account and login to steam, ...
(got CD-key?)

yes i got CD key, but i dont have CD, i lost it ( half life CD)

whats the file name and directory for the crosshair to show at the main menu and in game?

when i start-up Cs 1.6 it dosent show a mouse or anything

go to start, run, and type this in

"C:\Program Files\Steam\steam.exe" -applaunch 10

What is the file name and directory, for the crosshair in CS 1.6, cuz on the main menu and in game i cant see them, and where do i enter the CD key? it says wrong CD key when i trie to join server, where do i enter CD key, i have but dont know where to enter, cuz i accidently entered 1 wrong character (Letter or number) and now cant change it, i need help

Do you get any error messenges?

If it doesn't even load, you must download the "steam.dll" file. And "steamgui.dll" and some other files lol.

no error, the game does load, i played but no mouse in main menu or serverlist, maybe missing gfx or something

Well I am trying to get cs:cz jump-started, lol.
I get alots of error msg's like "gfx.wad not found", "decals.wad not found" "bla bla bla you have not a valid path" -.-

I hate error msg's I need a OS without error msg's lol.
